Fall 2020 Board Meeting Minutes


 

Little Stitches - Request for Proposals

April 30 - May 1, 2022
Ramada Inn, Beaver Falls, PA

If you have taught or are thinking about teaching for your chapter this is a perfect opportunity for YOU! All members are welcome and encouraged to submit a proposal. It's a great way to explore and practice the art of teaching embroidery.

By vote of the Executive Committee this Little Stitches will be a two day event. We are requesting proposals for one and two day classes. Please include pictures, a description and estimated cost of the project you are interested in teaching. The teaching fee is $150 per day.

Group Correspondence Course Offerings

Members will enjoy participating in MER supported GCCs!

Mythical Myrtle - Text $35.

MER will cover the course registration and all shipping costs for course texts and projects to and from the teacher. Participants are responsible for the cost of text, supplies and shipping of the project to the coordinator for submission to the teacher for evaluation.

To register, please complete this form and mail it along with a check made out to MER EGA for the cost of the instruction booklet to the GCC coordinator.

Hearts for Hospice

Hearts for Hospice was initiated in 2015 by the Greater Kansas City Needlepoint Guild to fulfill a need a local Hospice center. When a resident passes, a stitched heart is placed on the door which notifies those passing by to be respectful of friends and family in mourning. The embroidered heart is then given to a family member so it may become a cherished remembrance. In November of 2019, the guild reported that they had donated over 1,400 hearts, from 26 states, to three local Hospice Houses and one of which is a children's home.

Each chapter is asked to participate in the Hearts for Hospice project by embroidering and finishing ornaments for donation to a Hospice near you. Continue reading ...
