Mid-Eastern Region (MER) is proud to be part of the Embroiderers' Guild of America (EGA) and its diverse membership who share a common appreciation of the art of embroidery.

MER has an approximate membership of 400 and is one of 13 regions within the Embroiderers' Guild of America and supports 16 chapters throughout central and western New York, western Pennsylvania and a small area in northern West Virginia. It hosts informal gatherings, seminars and workshops annually designed to foster knowledge and interest in the art of embroidery.

Local chapters offer monthly programs, projects, demonstrations, field trips, community projects, and informal gatherings. Joining a chapter within MER automatically makes you a member of the region and the Embroiderers' Guild of America. Chapters welcome guests to visit before becoming a member and are open to anyone with an interest in needlework.

As a member of the Embroiderers' Guild of America you will receive a copy of Needle Arts, a quarterly magazine with articles, hints and how-tos, chapter news, upcoming events, educational programs. All members receive a copy of the annual education catalog and are encouraged to take advantage of the varied educational opportunities EGA offers. EGA hosts a seminar each year at different locations throughout the country, providing a large assortment of wide ranging classes taught by professionals.
